Baha'i Youth Move the World
“Leaders of religion, in every age, have hindered their people from attaining the shores of eternal salvation, inasmuch as they held the reins of authority in their mighty grasp. Some for the lust of leadership, others through want of knowledge and understanding, have been the cause of the deprivation of the people.” Bahá’u’lláh, Kitáb-i-íqan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_21st-century_religious_leaders
ON SIGNING THE DECLARATION CARD ALL BAHA’IS PLEDGE TO OBEY THE UNIVERSAL HOUSE OF JUSTICE & THE CENTRAL FIGURES
Rationalise out of mind and out of hand, if such is your wont, any or all of the nineteen points touching on the Esperanto language referenced in the first link above and then try explaining to young and new believers a single justification on your part for de facto ignoring the language principle itself which the Universal House of Justice in its preeminent statement to the world has instructed you to engage with “the most urgent attention”.
“Our part is not to choose the language, but to interest our different governments to appoint an International Language Committee, composed of their best language scholars to study this whole question, and either choose one of the present languages or create a language which when it is approved by all governments should be made compulsory in every school in the world as the auxiliary language. This does not take away anything from our own native language, but it will put us into touch with the heart, the soul, the spirit of peoples of every land, for wherever we go, we could understand and be understood…” M. Root, 1939. https://bahaiteachings.org/what-could-replace-politics-chaos/

Similarly, in Turning Point for all Nations (1995) the Baha’i International Community, a well-resourced New York based institution, famously referenced Esperanto and asked the UNO to appoint “a high-level Commission, with members from various regions and drawn from relevant fields, including linguistics, economics, the social sciences, education and the media, to begin careful study on the matter of an international auxiliary language...” In response the president of the Universal Esperanto Assoc from abroad visited BIC leaders! See FB2B: https://gum.co/gDehr Almost non-existent are reciprocal overtures on the part of BIC officers notwithstanding a shared address in the same UN centre, Manhattan. In 2020 a peak of indifference was meted out to Chicago’s Esperantists who had reached out in person to Baha’is at the Wilmette temple.

“Therefore, the very first service to the world of man is to establish this auxiliary international means of communication. It will become the cause of the tranquility of the human commonwealth.” Abdu’l-Bahá addressing the Esperantists of Washington DC, 1912, Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 60.

One particularly polyglottal member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Canada is an Esperantist, as was his coreligionist and countrymate, the famous and saintly Queen Marie of Romania
Martha Root’s eight successive audiences with Queen Marie of Romania resulted in
that member of royalty becoming a Bahá'í, the first ruling monarch to do so. Martha
was a great friend to, and confidante of, Lidia Zamenhof and also to Agnes Alexander,
yet another Hand of the Cause of God who had mastered Esperanto as a vehicle for
teaching the Faith, especially in China and Japan. Queen Marie’s allegiance to Bahá'í
and Esperanto is recorded in Star of the West. https://bahaiteachings.org/the-bahai-queen Accorded

RUHI MEANS SERVICE! WHY THE MASTER SAYS THAT STUDYING AND SPREADING ESPERANTO IS THE VERY FIRST SERVICE:
"The greatest means of progress towards the union of East and West will be a common language. It will make the whole world one home and become the strongest impulse for human advancement. It will upraise the standard of the oneness of humanity. It will make the earth one universal commonwealth. It will be the cause of love between the children of men. It will cause good fellowship between the various races. Now praise be to God that Dr. Zamenhof has invented the Esperanto language. It has all the potential qualities of becoming the international means of communication. All of us must be grateful and thankful to him for this noble effort for in this way he has served his fellowmen well. With untiring effort and self-sacrifice on the part of its devotees, Esperanto will become universal. Therefore, every one of us must study this language and spread it as far as possible, so that day by day it may receive a broader recognition, be accepted by all governments and nations of the world and become a part of the curriculum in all the public schools.” (PD’s emphasizing.)
