In his first call on the nation the President-elect nobly invoked all strata of American society to embrace a Biden vision of unity entailing admirable pledges vis-a-vis the pandemic, climate change, structural racism, sexism, and international relations. One issue is so crucial however, that if left to fester, will render said pledges as words written on water for a zillion poor Americans, unaided by a potentially hostile Senate: 

Abolition of the extremes of wealth and poverty, though truly as fraught as abolishing slavery, is a presidential enterprise not dependent in its first step on US democracy.

A degree of presidential leadership, perhaps coercion, is required in the same vein as President Lincoln did proclaim, and eventually had enshrined in the Constitution, the abolition of slavery. To sever by decree the holding of excessive personal wealth, the revenue from which in the coffers of just governments ends forever all abject poverty and solves almost everything, is now due. The Prohibition of Poverty Proclamation is more akin to the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation abolishing the owning of slaves than to any comparison with governmental over-regulation or interference in the free market economy. 危机 Stay rather rich if you really must but billionaires are verboten!
